Where do you find your creative inspiration?

The other day I wrote a post about what gives you inspiration to create certain projects. Today, let us talk about WHERE to get your creative inspiration. I have made a list of where I get my creative inspiration. This list has help me especially when I am experiencing a creative block.

• Catalogs
• Outside (nature)
• Magazines
• House
• Stores
• Friends and Family

CATALOGS are an excellent place to find creative inspiration. You can either recreate (CASE – Copy And Share Everything) a project or come up with your own creation.

OUTSIDE (nature) I love spending time outside. Nature is a pallet of inspiration. Think about all the different aspects that nature offers…the sky, trees, flowers, even smells, just to name a few.

MAGAZINES are another great source for creative inspiration. I can find creative inspiration in pretty much any type of magazine. As an example, a boating magazine, which is far from rubber stamping and paper crafting, could get the creative juices flowing. It might be the paint combination of a boat or could be just the background of a photo. Think about a home decor magazine, can you imagine the amount of creative inspiration that you could draw on?

HOUSE There are many areas in my house that I can find inspiration and I bet you could feel the same. Look at your curtains, bedspread, sheets, towels, even look in your pantry. There are color combinations, as well as shapes all around us. Look at your walls, what color are they, do they have a texture. Look at the plates you eat from every day, is there a pattern.

STORES While I am out shopping I am constantly looking around getting creative inspiration and ideas. Again, it might be a color combination, or it might be a shapes or patterns.

FRIENDS AND FAMILY There have been times that I have been chatting with friends and family, maybe about something specific or general conversation and will get some creative inspiration.
