Big News for Paper Crafters: Stampin’ Up! Is Introducing New Magnetic Ink Pads

If you love stamping, card making, scrapbooking, or paper crafting, you know one thing for sure:

    Your ink pad matters!

And exciting news is on the horizon — Stampin’ Up! is introducing new magnetic ink pads, and they’re designed to make stamping easier, cleaner, and more consistent than ever before.

Let’s break down what this means for you.

    What’s Changing?

Beginning in May 2026, Stampin’ Up! will begin introducing a new felt ink pad inside a magnetic, stackable case. This new case rollout will happen gradually, starting with the brand-new 2026–2028 In Colors.

    But here’s the important part:

You do not need to replace your current ink pads.

Your existing pads will continue to work beautifully. This is simply an upgrade option rolling out over time.

    Why Introduce Magnetic Ink Pads?

The new design focuses on three major improvements that customers care about:

    1. Long-Term Ink Performance

Felt pads provide a more stable surface for dye-based ink over time. That means:

    • More consistent color application
    • Less chance of ink shifts as pads age
    • Reliable stamping results

    2. Magnetic, Snap-Tight Case

    The new case design features:

    • Easy-open functionality
    • Secure magnetic closure
    • Clean, stackable storage

If you love an organized craft space, this is a game changer.

    3. More Ink in Every Pad

These new magnetic ink pads hold more ink — meaning:

    • Fewer refills
    • Longer-lasting pads
    • More stamping fun

    When Can You Get Them?

The first release arrives in May 2026 with the launch of the 2026–2028 In Colors.

The full collection transition will continue into 2027.

If you’re someone who loves having the latest crafting tools, you’ll be able to start building your collection right away. If you’re happy with what you have, you can transition at your own pace.

This change is all about improving your stamping experience — more consistency, easier storage, and long-term reliability.

Stay tuned for Part 2, where we’ll talk about how the new felt ink pads actually feel when stamping — especially for detailed vs. bold images.
